Virginia’s Farewell Surprise
The director of our Caravan tour was Virginia Fuentes. She’s awesome. Everybody on the tour loved her (except one guy, but that’s a whole other story). Her energy, her humor, her smile, her extensive knowledge, and her excitement for her adopted country of Guatemala made the tour truly excellent.
Throughout the tour, whenever it was someone’s birthday, she would come out at dinner with a cake with candles, we’d all sing Happy Birthday, the whole nine yards. And then we’d eat the cake, of course. We were lucky enough to have this happen several times! Well, one day Virginia let it slip that it was her anniversary… So Meribeth made a card (with her original art on the front), we all wrote notes in it and signed it, and during our farewell dinner, we brought out a cake for her. While we all sang Happy Anniversary, I grabbed my camera and switched it to video mode…
Thanks again, Virginia, for making our trip great!
