McDonalds is better in Antigua
This has been a rather interesting Sunday!
- We saw the start and finish of the Medio Maraton las Rosas, a half-marathon that starts and finishes in the Parque Central.
- We briefly visited a church called Vida y Fe (Life and Faith) that someone had told us about. We enjoyed 30-40 minutes of worship music there before…
- We headed over to the Iglesia del Nazareno (where we went two Sundays ago). Pastor Josue preached, with Nancy interpreting again. It was great!
- Then we met Miriam (Stacey’s teacher from the Christian Spanish Academy), her husband Byron, and their little daughter Sofia for a chicken bus ride to San Antonio Agua Calientes. We visited a market and museum there and bought some gifts before heading home. And on the ride home, somebody puked!
- And now, I’m sitting in the “McInternet” area in McDonalds letting you know about it all. Oh, and like I said in the title of this post, the McDonalds here really is better. Not because of the food — that’s exactly the same. But it’s faster, cleaner, and prettier than most McDonalds restaurants I’ve visited. Plus they have this little internet spot, a McCafe coffee bar, the kids Playplace, and a whole garden seating area with a fountain!
Because I’m on a public computer, I can’t really upload my pics from today yet, but I’ll update this post with them sometime tomorrow. Probably.
[OK, here are the photos!]
- is it in you?
- getting ready...
- for the race!
- and it begins!
- we ate lunch at chimino's
- right on the sidewalk, right by the finish line
- waiting for the finishers
- the finish line
- stacey likes feeling tall!
- here comes the winner
- crossing the tape
- 2nd place
- 3rd place
- running on the sidewalk to avoid the cobblestones
- i don't blame them!
- vida y fe
- come, now is the time to worship
- josue preaching, with nancy translating (they're hilarious!)
- stacey, miriam, byron, & sofia
- shopping time
- that's for you, miriam!
- just like home
- except nicer
- and with internet
- and a McCafe
- and a fountain
- same ol' playplace
- and same ol' Ronald
- what a clown

Hi from home:
If our McDonalds had a outdoor garden and fountain, I would stop by to relax too. Glad to hear you are having a good time (except for the puking incident).
Regards,
